The vaginal rejuvenation process aims to tighten lax muscles and supporting tissues in the vagina in order to achieve a narrower and tighter vaginal canal and smaller opening. This can be accomplished in a couple of different ways.
A vaginoplasty aims to tighten the vagina through surgical means. With the patient under anesthesia, excess mucosa skin is removed from the inside of the vagina and resewn to form a tighter vaginal wall. The muscles of the vagina, which may have become separated, are also tightened. With the interior of the vagina tightened, excess external skin is also sometimes removed for aesthetic purposes.
Laser vaginal rejuvenation is another method that has received attention. In this non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation process, a CO2 fractional laser is used to make microlesions in the vaginal wall. These microlesions set off the production of collagen, which, over the course of several weeks, reorganizes the structures of the vaginal interior, thickening vaginal walls and retightening the vagina.
Vaginal rejuvenation reviews are generally positive, with patients experiencing an increase in vaginal tightness and a reduction in negative symptoms stemming from loose vaginal walls. Some patients even report an increase and/or restoration of their sexual satisfaction.
