To be among the best at what you do, you’ve got to get the right education. I earned my medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine before going on to complete my residency in general surgery at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. I’ve also completed two separate medical fellowships and received additional education at the University of Louisville’s Kutz and Kleinert Institute for Hand Surgery. When I became attracted to the field of plastic surgery, I trained and completed my plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. Since then, I’ve made the move to the Miami plastic surgery scene and worked alongside some of the best plastic surgeons in Miami.

In all of my years of practice, I’ve staked my work on one guiding principle: my belief that plastic surgery is a people business. How could it not be? People come to us from all walks of life looking for a solution to troubles that they have been unable to overcome through any other means they’ve tried. These troubles may be mental, like in the case of low self-esteem, or they might be physical, as in the case of back troubles stemming from breasts that need a reduction. Regardless of the nature of their problem, every single patient is unique, and in order to give them the care they require, we always need to treat them as such.

My approach as a plastic surgeon is always to be that of a researcher first. I learn what the patient’s problem is, how they think they might want to go about solving it, their body type and medical history. In this way, I can put together a picture of exactly what I need to do as a plastic surgeon to help make this person’s life better.

I draw a lot of inspiration from my family. I’ve been married to my wife since 1992 and we’ve got four children now. I bring the lessons of love and the importance of strength and fortitude that they’ve taught me into the clinic with me every single day. As I say, it’s a people business I’m in. Every patient I see has a family and a life of their own that I know I can positively impact by doing my job to the very best of my ability.

Reconstructive plastic surgery is used to repair damaged tissue after illness or injury. Some of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures are breast augmentation, breast reduction, eye-lid surgery, liposuction and ear reshaping. The most common non-surgical procedures include: injections, dermal fillers, chemical peels, microdermabrasion and laser and in-tense light treatments.
